SAMPLING, FULL PACKAGE, AND C.M.T. SERVICES IN LOS ANGELES
We partner up with independent contractors who have 10+ years of working in the industry. After confirming all of the construction details and processes, we allocate the work to the contractors based on skills, machinery, pricing, unit capacity, and current lead time.
We are here to assist throughout the several stages of the production process using two methods:
FULL PACKAGE PRODUCTION
Ideal to those who are new to the production side of the industry or to those who need an extra hand while they handle the marketing, sales, and all other aspects of running their brand.
Meetings + Communications: We start off by getting to know a bit about the designer, their collection, ideas and inspiration. After understanding their needs and discussing the plan, we begin to reach out to contractors and vendors.
Sourcing Fabrics + Trims: We can set up meetings with vendors to source swatches, headers, sampling and production quantities. Our network of vendors can accommodate small production rounds and larger amount of production units.
Patternmaking: A first pattern is created to test out the fabric, fit, and drape of the garment. Alterations are made to achieve the vision of the designer before moving it into production.
Sampling: A sample is made to test out the pattern, fabric, construction, and fit. Feedback from the samplemaker and the designer is communicated with the patternmaker. We can create a sample based off of one size or create up to a full size run.
Production: Once samples and patterns are approved, we move them into the production phase - order fabrics + trims, marking and grading, cutting, sewing, finishing, etc. Scroll down to the CMT section for more details.
SAMPLING AND CMT - CUT, MAKE, AND TRIM
If you already have a patternmaker and fabric + trims vendors secured, this is a great option for those who just need help with creating samples, finalize a few details, and/or go straight into production.
Sampling: We can create first samples by partnering up with the same contractor who can make the production units. They become familiar with the styles given, making production move easier. Feedback will be communicated with the designer so they can instruct the patternmaker on the changes that have to be made.
Prep Paperwork: After confirming the quantities that would like to be produced, proper documentation for all contractors involved is created. Final construction details are recorded in tech packs.
Marking and Grading: We can work with a few methods. If you only have a paper pattern or a file with one size, we can digitize it, grade it, mark it, and print it out. If you have a digital file of the marker ready to go, we can print it out and go into cutting.
Cutting: The production marker is delivered to the cutting contractor. They strategically layer several plys of fabric to get the quantities desired. The cuts get bundled by size and are taken to the sewing teams.
Sewing + Finishing: The sewing contractor receives the cuts and are given the documentation and instructions to proceed. A TOP (Top of Production unit) can be made for final approval. We make consistent visits to see their progress and check on the quality. The garments then have loose threads trimmed off, pressed, folded and/or packaged according to the designer's standards.
Garment Dye + Denim Wash : We also partner with local Dye Houses and Wash Houses to achieve the color and wash envisioned. See Capabilities tab for more details.
Quality Control: We value the work relationship that we have with our contractors. Since nearly everything is not 100% automated, we come in with a fresh set of eyes to double check everything. We perform inspections at every stage to prevent problems.
